Home Office

Home office items are made from reclaimed or scrap wood, repurposed found objects and materials. They tend to have one or more of the following features:

Clocks

Materials: wood, quartz clock movement

​

These simple and modern clocks are made from scrap wood or exotic hard woods. They come in a variety of sizes and designs and have exposed hands. Some clocks feature a live edge or bark detail while others are simple and clean with rich colours and grains. Most clocks can be either hung or placed on a desk top.

Apple Dock

Made: 2013

Materials: apple wood, rubber feet


​This tablet dock is made from a chunk of scrap apple wood. Wood has been notched along the top at a slight angle to fit a smartphone, tablet or similar sized mobile device. The apple wood has been sanded and finished with antique danish oil. There's a knot and grain patterns that form a cross section view of an apple. Rubber feet have been added to prevent scratching. ​

Down the Rabbit Hole

Made: 2013

Materials: cedar, clock parts, plastic, fur

This Alice in Wonderland inspired paperweight is made from scrap cedar, vintage clock parts, a plastic rabbit's head from an old wine bottle stopper, and scrap fur from the bucket ottoman cushion top. Combined, this paperweight is whimsical and one-of-a-kind. The clock doesn't work but winding knob can be turned for fun. A piece suitable for any home office.

Mini Stakes

Materials: scrap wood

These letter openers are made from left over wood from the Heart clock. They've been sanded and finished with danish oil and have bark detail at top edge. Perfect for opening letters or killing vampires.

Bookmarks

Made: ongoing

Materials: scrap wood

​

These bookmarks are made from thin pieces of scrap wood. The are shaped, sanded and finished with antique danish oil. Thin and light weight yet much more durable than a paper bookmark. Some bookmarks have a tapered end and doubles as a letter opener.

Deer Jar

Made: 2012

Materials: salvaged drift wood, mason jar, yarn

This deer coin jar vase is made with drift wood found on Cherry beach, an upcycled mason jar and yarn. The driftwood has been hollowed out to perfectly fit around a mason jar. Parts of the surface has been varnished, while areas where to wood broke off is left raw. The lid of the mason jar has been modified with a slit cut out for inserting coins. Yarn has been wrapped around the lid surface for soft texture and feel. Remove the lid and the jar can be used for cut or dried flowers. A very unique and aesthetically pleasing piece, suitable as a decorative statement piece in any room.
